from what I've heard it should be fine although make sure you take the puppy out and about on her own so she develops confidence for herself & forms a bond with you rather than just relying on the mama!

Re: is it ok to keep a bitch puppie with its mother?

Yes, it should be OK, but do be aware that when keeping any two bitches together there is potential for problems and that isn't any less likely if the other bitch is the daughter of the first one.

Most people keep more than one bitch with no problems though.

I think having mother and daughter is fine .. but I also have to agree with one of the posts.. to make sure that you do take the daughter out away from mom to ensure she does have the confidence so she does not live in mommies shadows.

Re: is it ok to keep a bitch puppie with its mother?

Jackson is spot on....Ive got mum n daughter (shes 18 months) and ive had to split them up on occasions once they reach a certain age theres no loyalty especially if mum goes on to have more pups

I also until a few days ago had mum and son but he tried to domineer her and they had many fights so much so i had to rehome him

Maybe it depends on the breed im just telling you my experience
