Re: Bleeding

I've spayed a lot of rescue bitches and this is NOT normal. I've never had one bleed after surgery, so would be very concerned. If she were in my care I'd pick up telephone and call vet for advice immediately.

Your vet will offer 24 hour cover, so there will be someone to have a quick word with, then you can take if from there. Hope all is okay

Re: Bleeding

I'd take her to the emeregency vet, no experience here of bitches (unless my MIL counts?) but it doesn't sound quite right.

Please keep us updated.

Re: Bleeding

i cant think of any reason for the bleeding so i would at least get on the phone to the vets. I hope all is well, also how much blood is she losing? is it constant ? if so i would get her straight to the vets

Re: Bleeding

My friend has a cocker spaniel who was spayed a few weeks ago...after about a week she started bleeding just like your's...She was taken straight to the vet and my friend was told that she must have burst a stitch inside from doing too much....she was put on antibiotic's incase of infection and had to take it easy...she is fine now....I would call the vet and get her checked over...
Let us know how you get on...

Re: Bleeding

Definitely get her to the vets - there could be something going on where she is holding the blood and it's why you are only seeing it when she moves

Re: Bleeding

The vet did an internal examination and found slight brownish tinge to her b lood, but he said he didnt think its spey related, she could of just done a bit too much,
she started a vcourse of synulox yesterday incase of any infection(s), bleedin has stopped, shes eating ,weeing, pooing, drinking all ok
i think we'll be fine, apparently this loss of blood does happen, not massively in a lot/all of dogs but he has known it to happen in the past
all ok here
