my mini schnauzer sophie is expecting her 1st litter anytime, shes day 63 today so really hoping its very soon. on her scan 2 puppies were seen but obviously there might be more and shes huge, i took her back to the vets on friday morning as i was a little concered she lost alot of mucas and was very unsettled but vets said she and puppy were fine and they would be suprised if they didnt see me on monday with the babies...... if nothing has happened by wednesday they said they will do a c section on her as she'll be 65 days. has anybody else had this happen with there dog?

also her temp has started to come down since yesterday after noon but no big drop and no other symtoms???

her temp yesterday at 3.00pm was 37.7.
at 8.00pm yesterday it was 36.6.

this morning at 8am it was 36.0

so are things going ok?

I can't say for definite without viewing her and having a feel about but sounds like she's on track to whelp today, tonight or tomorrow.

Most lose mucus anytime from day of mating.... losing mucus is not an indicator of labour.

Make sure whenever she goes out now, that you take her on a lead. Some show absolutely no signs of first stage labour.
