castration

mmmmm... might be wrong section

But....

....If a dog is castrated does his sperm disappear more or less straight away?

Whereas if a man is steralised he has to have a test 6 weeks later as sperm is still held?

Anyone know?

Re: castration

No, it can be months before you can trust he's infertile.

Re: castration

mmmmmm... further onto the replies (thanks for being so quick )

But, if its the testicles that make the sperm and they are removed, how would the dog still hold the sperm?

I know the prostate and (some other place ) produce the semen to mix with the sperm but surely, if there is no testes then no sperm?

Or is it that its held in the tube ready for ejaculation (epididymis) already mixed?.

But then during castration the tube is stretched and clamped/torn as close to the bodyas possible.

confused:confused: confused:

(know this all sounds a bit weird but honest i do need to know )
