Cross breeders - Optigen are there to help

For all those cross breeders who want to do the right thing and health test optigen have released some cross breed health tests:

Quote:
Cockapoos - OptiGenŽ prcd-PRA test
Goldendoodle - OptiGenŽ prcd-PRA , GR_PRA1 & Ichthyosis tests
Lab/Golden Cross - OptiGenŽ prcd-PRA , GR_PRA1 , Ichthyosis & RD/OSD tests
Labradoodles - OptiGenŽ prcd-PRA test & RD/OSD test
Labradoodles, Australian - OptiGenŽ PFK test , prcd-PRA & RD/OSD tests
OptiGen - Tests offered - Canine genetic testing, Ithaca, New York

You can get your health tests done with them.

Also backs up what many of us have been saying to new members that just because a dog is a cross doesnt mean they are health problem free.

Hopefully with optigen offering more it will encourage people to health test.

Please do not forget other health tests needed to the two/three breeds such as hip scores and elbow scores.

Great news might encourage those crossbreeders who claim to be doing it all ethically to do more testing

Fabulous news. I wanted to give you some rep for posting this, but I've got to spread it about a bit first!

I think this is important new information - perhaps it ought to be made a sticky, if one of the mods would be so kind.

Exactly. You health test for both breeds involved in the dog (cockerpoo, cocker and poodle).
