Sex of puppies
I know that it is the bitch that determines the amount of puppies she carries but what about the sex? Is it just pure luck?

The reason I ask is recently there is one particular stud put to 4 different bitches. Out of the pups born there was 15 males and only 1 female, just one of those things?

It is completely random, but it is also down to the stud, the bitch doesn't have anything to do with it.
The bitch gives an X chromosome no matter what, it's the male that gives the second one, either another X or a Y. XX being female and XY being male.

Adam's first litter produced 6 girls and 6 boys. I did say I had more homes for girls at first - he must have heard me as his next litter was 9 girls and 1 boy
