hi can anybody tell me what is the best time to start using my male dog to breed from & what is the best age to stop

First off why do you want to breed from your boy? Has he had all the relevant health tests? Is he a great example of his breed?

Stud dogs always have the urge to mate even after being neutered

k.c will tell u when hes had his health tests and some tests are done over a year old
my toy poodle stud was 18 months old (incidently he become a dad to 8 today )

Yip i agree please get your chi checked out do you know of any heath problems in his parents ect ect....dont mean to be nippy but i have had chi's in my life for 22 years, chi's have breathing problems the smaller they are seems to be worse please dont jump in
Think about it first because if he or his sibling have had any of these problems it will be past on to his pups.(and same go's for the mother)
Hope you didnt take that the wrong way am not whats the word ......

I would say around 1 year old some say 8-9 months
