Back....

From getting Alaska's blood drawn and sent off for Optigen.
She did so well even though the vet tried his best to take blood without cutting her hair but he missed twice so he clipped a bit of her leg hair. He was going to cut her main off and take the blood from her neck but I told him he had to try the leg first since the last lot of hair he clipped off had still not grown back nearly a year later.

Now its a waiting game.

Re: Back....

I would have been horrifed had they tried to shave my shelties mane out, when Barney needed surgery they shaved so much off him it was so unessary

but good luck with the results

Re: Back....

Thanks, I really do hope it goes back good as her other health tests have been great.

She has a little bald patch on her leg but at least its not the main.

Hope all goes well, great to hear about genuine breeders (or hope to be breeders) doing the right thing

Will you wait long for results?

The 20/20 clinic lady (val) says it could take anywhere from 48 hours to 10 days to get through customs. They send the samples off tuesday I believe.

Her granddad was genetic clear so with any hope she will be too.
