Re: breeding together different dog

Bulldogs often have problems whelping naturally when mated to another bulldog and need cesars. So mated to a great dane would almost deffinately not be able to whelp naturally I would think, which if in the hands of a complete novice who doesnt know what they are doing could easily result in the death of mum and pups. Both dogs also have hereditary health problems and are also so different it would not be wise. Is this a general question? If not and you have had an accidental mating I would speak to your vet and get a mis mate injection so any puppies are aborted. If you are asking because you are considering such a mating, then I suggest you re-think the idea. Not only because of the risks, but because of the number of puppies/dogs in rescues at the moment that are so high in number homes cannot be found, and rescues havent the space to take any more in. Many dogs are also being put to sleep daily because homes cannot be found.
