Re: Stage 1??

Awe - what a lovely pic, she looks very contented. Well done mummy Foxy.

I let Kali eat all eight of her placentas the vet said it was okay but it did give her the runs for a day. Vet said it's natures way of cleaning them out - i'm not so sure but I think she'll be okay with the two.

Re: Stage 1??

Thanks Everyone!
Mum and Pups are doing great!
They dont really make alot of noise but when they do start crying boy do they have a pair of lungs on them lol. Mum is refusing to leave them, even to go to the toilet, is this normal? i put a pad next to the whelping box for her, but it was clean this morning so she hasnt been to the toilet since about 3pm yesterday, is this ok?
Also this morning one of the pups wiggled away from mum and started crying, she went over to it and the other started crying, she started to panic and i had to lift them back to her where she huddled them underneath herself and sat crying, it took a good few minutes to get her calmed down again...should i be worried about this behaviour?

you may have to actually carry her outside for her to toilet, she wont want to leave her babies that is normal behaviour, she is just a new mummy with the worries she will begin to relax a little in a few days time, also i would feed her in with the puppies coz she probably wont want to leave them for food or drink either

Re: Stage 1??

i just carried her outside so she could go to the toilet and she was weeing for aaaggggeeesss lol
When she was done lastnight i offered her some food and she ate it straight away in the box whilst feeding the pups, and just now gave her some after she had been out but she turned her nose up at it, she went back in the box, i offered her it again and she ate it.
Should she have discharge after the birth? shes got none whatsoever, and there was very little mess at all during, i collected loads of newspapers as i was told that the birth would be very messy, but i only had to change the top papers once
