The pupster..

well the little pupster we managed to save from the litter is 8weeks old today and has had his first injection we saw the vet that helped treat the puppies and dam and again she commented on how lucky we are to have kept him going, and that he was looking so well. She even put an interest in having him - but was told no can do. She has said though that she will defo have a CC after meeting ours and will be coming to us when she does - what a compliment!
Ludi will have his second injection in two weeks and be microchipped - and then leave us to go to his new home - who are counting down the days! mum will be very up setting, hand rearing pups sure does make them that extra bit special even more so when the vet gives a slim chance of survival - but we do know a pet home is best for him - and he couldnt be going to a better one.
Just thought I would share, as I am soooo pleased with how well he has come on since that weak wee pup!

Hope 2011 is a good year for all - take care!

Re: The pupster..

Thank You Dexter - Its such hard work isnt it - he was born at only 3oz and it was such a struggle getting that weight on - now there is no stopping him. Its over whelming to see him just being and looking like a normal puppy!

wow -that is tiny ! what is the normal weight of a CC pup?

What a lovely feeling it must be to see him coming on so well he's lovely

My last litter were 21oz a piece (no wonder poor mum doesn't want to do it again )

Re: The pupster..

He's looking fab
Such a cutie and looking so healthy and strong now
I'm sure it'll be a bitter sweet day when he goes to his new home.

I would say 5oz is avarge, we have had ones as heavy as 7oz though - and the puffs are usally the biggest, strongest in the litter even at birth.
A lovely feeling indeed, so over whelming - he stayed around the same weight for the first two weeks, vets didnt see much chance of him making it - but look at him now
wow 21oz sounds huge compared to a CC which of course it is, but seeing teeny weeny CC pups I cant begin to imagine 21oz

Thank You - hes going to be a cracker for sure! will feel like my heart has been ripped out, and mum will be ten times worse when he leaves It will be mixed feelings, we know its for the best but that doesnt make it easier - its sad seeing pups go and he sure is one special baby.
