I think it has more to do with 'type' than a copy of the particular dog, you could never guarantee a dog like him, but if someone is importing that 'type', be it because of show or working attributes, then they must be aiming for similar with their breeding programe.

Oh i know there are a few Del Bagio progeny here, I used them as an example only as i loved Royal Star who has sadly gone over the Bridge, the boy certainly left his mark
The point in my thread was hypothetical, i was looking for other peoples opinions and experiences of importing.
Breeders like those of CAOs, Klee Kais, English Shepherds etc may not have the option of using another kennel as the gene pool in the UK is so small and they want to keep their lines healthy or add to them, so going to another kennel in the UK isnt always an option

You have been very lucky hun, how did yoou find the import process? Did you do quarintine here or did they stay with the breeder?
