Kennel Name

Hi,

I am thinking of applying for a Kennel name but can’t decide on a name... I was wondering if anyone on here could help?

As I have Chows I would like a Chinese sounding name but unfortunately I don't speak Chinese!

I live in Blackburn so quite like the idea of a Chinese translation of 'Black' and 'water' (Blackburn means Black water) or 'Black' 'tongue' as Chows have black tongues! But having used Google translate there are quite a lot of different words in Chinese for one English word...so am a bit confused!

Any help or suggestions are welcome! xx

Re: Kennel Name

I went for cold stuff as any pups I have will come from a blue merle.

Are you sure you want to include blackburn in it? Blackburns not the nicest of places.

I cant help you with language however have you thought about creating one using your first chow chow's name or a mix of places you like?

You need to pick some you really like or dont mind having as the 1st isnt always picked.

Re: Kennel Name

i cant think of a name right now....but will tell you you will need to come up with about 5 names as the form that you will need to fill in will ask you for your 5 choices and you are not sure to get the one you really want.

Blackburns not a nice place.....well yeh I have no defence for it unfortunately!!

I'm not the most creative person at the best of times...my two Chows are Bella and Cleo so could muddle their names up...oh so difficult!

Shetlandlover-whats your Kennel name?

Can you include the word 'Chow' in an affix? I have seen quite a few with Chow in their name- my pups mum has it in her affix but I have been told that its no longer acceptable to have the breed mixed into the Kennel Name?

Re: Kennel Name

Try writing down different combinations of the words you want to include, and say them out loud so you know it sounds OK. Mine is Tollisty, a combination of toller and misty (my first dog).

Mine is Arcticfrost.

No, aparently you cant have the breed in your name.
I shall think up a few for you and get back to you, it wasnt easy picking mine...I ended up putting my house name as one.

I live sort of in Blackburn....still under the BB post code but live in a village outside blackburn.
