As some know on the 5th on Novermber our show girlie Fizzi had a litter of 6 beautilf pups, over 48 hours we sadly lost 4 to FP - pup number 5 we had PTS at 4weeks old by vets advise, she also had gone down hill, her breathing was laboured and she was still the size of a newborn . which left us one little man Ludi. He is doing ever so well, so thought I would share a piccie - the hand rearing has been hard Fizzi came down with mastis (sp), so was being treated for that.
Seeing this wee man turn into a wee cracker has made this dreadful nightmare worth while.

Sadly not, we bred the litter for us and the stud owner to both have something, sadly with the way things panned out thats not possible - we aimed for a puff girl, stud owner wanted a hairless male - with all thats gone on with the litter, and something similar with another litter from the same lines as the stud we decided a pet home would be better and not add him back into a breeding programme. we had a couple of people wanting a pet HL male so have choosen a great family for him - he may be shown if he makes grade but will never be a breeding dog.

hanks, she is a right show off - I have never handled a dog that loves the ring so much.

This must have been an awful experience for you, its never easy to lose a pup but to lose so many... I cant imagine. Maybe this will make those people who think it would be "fun" to have a litter rethink their plans as even the most experienced breeders who do everything right like DD can have these awful things happen

Thanks its been so hard, the first 4weeks mum hardly slept - it is so difficult to accept that something so cruel can happen - how ever mum done her best, the vets were great and this wee chap is doing fine - most importantly Fizzi is doing fab to.
Having a litter is not fun it is hard work we was well out of our comfort zone with this litter, something I hope we and no other breeder ever has to experience again. Seeing Fizzis little sad, confused, stressed face ever time we took a pup and didnt return it was heart breaking.
But your right it just shows you can do everything right, and things still go wrong.
