wezy is on a distinguished road
nealy at the end of this rocky road :-)

Hi sorry i havnt been on for a while it never rains put pours for us lately
the pups seem to be getting bigger by the day i feel i have a very close bond with all of them due to all the problems that has arisen ,
for those of you who remember my girl had a chest infection and was but on mild antibiotics i was advised not to let them suckle for 24 hours , and got some fantastic help from archibaby and tanya regarding this ,
my girl never seemed to be getting better the vets we took her to didnt even tell me she had a chest infection they said her chest sounds fine and gave her the antibiotics for her and pups regardless ,
i felt worried when her chest started rattling really bad a week after the meds
i took her to a different vets who agreed with me she did have a bad chest infection she was put on stronger meds and was not allowed to nurse her pups
so the grate advise i was given worked a treat for the pups weaning
they are all on mushed puppy food with warm goats milk full time and they love it , it has really changed them its fab ,
Down side jue to mum not being able to nurse them her breast area blew up like balloons trip to the vets confirmed mastitus not good shes had a real bad time , she was given even stronger meds and also medication to dry her milk up , then 2 days after that i saw what really shocked me wear she had her c section it looked like a huge growth all the way along along her scar l,
back to the vets the vet said its either a infection or a reaction to the inner stitches or worst scenario a hernia omg cant understand it being an infection when she has been on so much antibiotics !
i was told to leave her a few das and see if the meds do any difference
she is back today this afternoon so i will see what is going on .
its been a long hard few weeks as i feel they are missing out on mum
i have to find a way of hiding her teats so pups cant suckle ive tried a few things but as there swollen its hard to no what to try ,
They are all however 80% pee pad trained when they are out of there bed area they will go to the pads to relive there selves its fantastic how quick they have learnt not to mention how many times we have had a chaios time trying to get them to go on the pads but has worked wonders i must of gone through 50 training pads in 3 days lol but now i have quicker reactions to move the poop quickly before the stampede treads it all in lol
after feed time they all get giddy have a play then they all sit in a semi circle looking at me just looking not crying or pawing they just all look, my heart melts , i put my head down to each one and they all give me a little lick kiss i absolutely love it .
there dad is fantastic with and very curious he sits and watches them all hes very gentle with them its brill to watch , just a shame there mum is missing out i sit her on the sofa and she has to watch from the sofa
hear are a few pics there still very small for there age but there all perfect
i want to say thank you for the people that took there own time out to help me with the problems i have had i feel that they wouldnt all be with me today if it wasnt for the help i have had so thank you .
i wont be ever breeding again i have learnt a big lesson every thing that can go wrong mite go wrong leave it to the professionals.
never the less t gone from wanting to keep 1 to i think i will be keeping a few

Re: nealy at the end of this rocky road :-)

thank you and thank you for all your help it has been very much appreciated
can you give me some advice on what you feed your pups on
i tried news paper but the white pups get ink all over there fur , i am using puppy pads at the mo but it will be confusing them as they do there buisness on them i wanted to learn them not to do it next to food , plus im going through 20 a day !
also im feeding them every 4 hours at the moment last night was the first night i let them go all night with out a feed , but my partner gets up for work around 5.00 so he feeds them then ,
how many times a day or hours apart should they be fed as there not getting milk from mum , how long should they be left during the night with no food ?
this is the only confusing bit to me as i have never fed puppies food so young
they are now 5 weeks old tomorrow

Hi Wezy. Its so lovely to hear an update,im sorry that youve had such a tough time but hopefully things are on the up now.The pups are looking lovely and a credit to all your hard work.Fingers crossed mom gets better real soon xx

Meant to add, would mom wear a little old tshirt,it may help stop the pups trying to feed x

hi wezy, you could try some cheap plastic tablecloths ( usually in the £1 shop) i feed mine 4 times a day (although mum is allowed to go in when she wants, she dosent really let them feed now, just plays and knocks them all over the place) 7-8am 12-1pm 5-6pm 9-10pm (they dont have any feeds during the night with regards to mum,you could also try a large babygro and put it on her so that the fastening is on her back( so her teats are all covered and puppies cannot get to them) and then she can teach and play with the puppies you have worked so hard on these babies and i know what a terrible time you have had but give yourself a big pat on the back for getting through it

Your puppies look really well..

And it is very unfortunate you have had such a tough time with them.. I really hope from now everything goes to plan.. xxx
