Re: DNA testing
Also Animal Welfare, Cat, Dog, Horse, Charity, Donations, Animal Health Trust for dna tests available in the UK
In a quick look I could not find anything for vizslas. Are you sure it is a DNA test you are enquiring about or DNA profiling? Profiling is quite cheap £15 and the Kennel Club do it (Animal Health Trust as well but more expensive). It's useful to check parentage of a litter if there are any doubts, and proof of identity if the dog is stolen. DNA tests use either cheek swabs (you get a little kit and do it at home - easy peasy) or blood samples that the vet has to take, depending on the test itself. The KC profiling is with cheek swabs.
