Re: 3 beautiful bichon babies so far!!!!

wow...well done you and mummy dog x please keep an eye out for the retained placenta as she will need to go the vets if it doesnt come out x
did you get her scanned to see how many(sorry cant remember of the top of my head if you did), does it feel like there are anymore in there and what time did she have the last one?if shes settled and feeding she may have finished, which means you need to get the retained placenta sorted, how come you had to cut the cords?

Re: 3 beautiful bichon babies so far!!!!

Congratulations to you and mummy - what a clever girl.

Are you sure she didn't eat that placenta, as it was all so fast? Maybe it will come out when she goes for a pee and starts moving around if not the vet will pob give her an oxytocin shot to make her contract and pass it. Well done and a lovely experience for you too.

Congratulations. The retained placentas may come out after like malmum said. If not take her for a check up and they give them an injection to help her expel any left over placentas. Good luck with the rest

Re: 3 beautiful bichon babies so far!!!!

1 more placenta just came out so as far as i know there is still 1 inside her, didnt see her eat it so will keep an eye and if it dosent appear I will have to call my vet.

couple of questions please ( cant think straight at the min sorry)

she is just cleaning herself and the pups are sqabbling around so:

how will i know if shes finished ie no more pups to come ( shes not having contractions )
how long should i watch and wait before asking the vet to give her what she needs to get out the placenta
thanks...x
