Owner Transfer - Help please
Hi everyone,
I hope someone can help me with a tricky problem we have. We have a beautiful 5 year old Cocker Spaniel, who has just produced 4 lovely puppies. We have 4 excellent owners lined up for the Puppies but have just realised that we never completed the transfer of ownership form To make matters even worse we have moved house in the past 5 years and cannot find the sale doucments from when we bought Rosie. We have the name of the breeders and have spoken to the KK who whilst willing to confirm the name will not provide any contact details (data protection). I have 2 questions, firstly is lack of KK regsitration a major barrier to selling our Puppies? Secondly is there a way round this problem. We have offered to write to the breeders and send a letter via the KK but they are unwilling to help us. Many thanks for any responses in advance. |

Re: Owner Transfer - Help please
You could try contacting the breed club(s) to see if your breeders are members - they might give out their contact details.
How did you find your girl's breeders in the first place? I'm amazed that the stud dog owner didn't ask to see your bitch's paperwork before the mating? Last edited by Ridgielover; 21-11-2010 at 12:12 PM.. |

Re: Owner Transfer - Help please
If you can not trace the breeders there is no way of getting your dog registered withy the Kennel Club. If she was still in their name, the breeders could have got a transfer form and then you could have put her in your name.
Did the owner of the stud dog not ask to see her papers before letting you use her dog at stud? If the puppies are not registered and the parents not health tested (I assune this as you normally need to take along KC docs) you may have difficulties selling the pups unless you reduce the price. Is this your butch's first litter - five is quite an old age for a 1st litter. |
