Re: accidental mating
Hi Jamie this mating is far to close being it a mother, son mating. Did the mating take place today?
On Monday morning I would advise you ring your vet straight away and get your girl booked in for whats called a mis mating injection. This should stop the pregnancy continuing. Speak with your vet about the different drugs used for this, and the after affects of it - one of the side affects can be bringing the bitch back into full blown season, which you would have to be careful about to risk this happening again.. I believe there are two different ones you can choose from one being around £30 and the other £60. (These are the prices at my vets, may be different at yours). The two I know of are.. Alizin Mesalin I would perfere to use Mesalin this is given on day 3 and 5 after mating. Good luck - and please consider neautering one or both of your dogs ![]() Last edited by Devil-Dogz; 20-11-2010 at 02:47 PM.. |

Re: accidental mating
Mismate would be what you need to do.
Also, I would suggest you book 1 or both of them in to be fixed to stop this from happening again. The vet will be able to give you advice of the risks and so on but a mother and son mating is a huge risk for any puppies as well as like any pregnancy a risk to mummy too. Good luck. |
