Re: Are your dogs parents/lines health tested?

Maya-Maybe if she belongs to the breeder I think she does but as she's a rescue I can not prove this.

Rusty-Although His dad was hip scored that was all as it was an accidental mating.

Re: Are your dogs parents/lines health tested?

No because he was from an accidental litter and I didn't know about health testing then.

My next dog will be from at the least PRA tested parents and possibly hip scored as well.

Re: Are your dogs parents/lines health tested?

Max was from rspca so no idea

Sammy i'm not to sure - was a private rehome previous owner would 'et rid' if he didn't have a home by the next day

george - nope - private rehome think it was an accidental mating with his parents

Re: Are your dogs parents/lines health tested?

My first dog's a rescue, a farm bred cross from their BC and JRT, not health tested but the collie could obviously put in a good day's work or she wouldn't have been kept on. Zig doesn't have any health problems except she needs a cereal-free diet.
My other dog Kite (Welsh Sheepdog) is also farm bred, and both her parents were working on the farm so were obviously fit for purpose. As both parents also had perfect temperaments it seemed to me a risk worth taking. I haven't made any decisions about breeding from Kite, but if I do, she will be hip scored and DNA tested first. If she doesn't come up with good results, she'll be spayed.

Re: Are your dogs parents/lines health tested?

No and don't know because Candy is a rescue - but I doubt it.

I didn't know about health testing when I got Sky (farm bred) and I didn't get the chance to do so with Luna.

Re: Are your dogs parents/lines health tested?

billy isnt registered as he is an accidental mutt, but both his parents are crufts qualified pedigrees and all fully health tested.

Miso sadly, although pedigree is 99.9% sure he isnt health tested being a rescue.
