Thread Removed?

I was just replying to the 2 litters thread and its been removed.

Very disappointed That could have helped a lot of inexperienced breeders and saved them from making the same mistake as the OP did.

Has this forum turned "fluffy" while i've been gone? Is experienced breeders input no longer welcome if it upsets someone who has done something stupid??

I wont bother replying in future if the threads just get removed, what a complete waste of time!!

THAT is entirely up to you, it has been removed as it needs moderating, something that I cannot do as of yet, I havent read it all the way through and have other things on my plate to do it straight away

Re: Thread Removed?

Does that mean it will be reinstated, for people to read in the future?

Re: Thread Removed?

Lets hope it is reinstated... A lot of people could learn from it. I dont like to see threads removed, as long as they dont break rules of course. Closing them is one thing but deleting them is a bit unfair to those who contributed valid information.

Re: Thread Removed?

I agree. I have never understood why threads are removed (unless the are abusive/advertising). I've also never understood how someone who starts a thread can get it removed. The whole point of forums is that it is public.

I understand that posters can sometimes not like what is being said and the answers/points of view they are given but surely a forum is a place for advice, discussion and even debate.
Once a question is asked on the forum it enters the public domain. I am convinced that a lot more people read forums to get information (petforums comes up quite high on google) and may never join. They will search and find answers without asking questions. I rarely reply directly to a question but try and answer as if I was reply to many. It is a shame and a loss if threads are pulled just because someone asks for it.

I understand that sometimes people get upset but the reality is that sometimes the truth is hard to take.

Just as a suggestion I've seen on another forum that threads started on the breeding section are done anoymously. This seems to help things not being taken personally. Maybe it is something that could be done here so people would not feel worried about posting?

Re: Thread Removed?

Was it because of the "personal" information, including some posted by me? The OP had previously posted that info on the forum herself, and I felt it relavent information as to why it was a bad idea for the OP to put themselves in that kind of situation in the first place.

I agree that it would have been extremely helpful to future viewers, and I hope that it can be cleaned up and brought back for future use by others.

Thats exactly what I was saying in my reply to the thread, that personal info can only be posted if you choose to share it yourself on the forum

If some crazy person digs up personal info about someone and then posts that then yeah, thats wrong. But if its something that has already been discussed by the individual on the forum then i dont see any harm in it

I think an anonymous breeders forum would be a good idea
