my girl has become a demon dog after giving birth

Ever since my girl gave birth recently she has decided to use the whole house as a toilet, she will go wherever she wants including on our beds, brand new sofa etc...she goes for walks 3 times a day and has regular access to the garden but it seems everytime i turn my back she has done the deed somewhere in the house.
She has become so disobediant but she was never like this before the babies arrived...i'm at my wits end and dont understand her at the moment...has anyone else experienced this? if so then how did you cure it?

Oh bless,iv no experience of this at all,but hopefully those who do will be along soon.
Can you possibly restrict the areas she has access to either with stairgates or the like, for now until pups are older/in new homes?

How old are her puppies? Perhaps she is doing this because she is stressed? If the pups are very young, then going out for walks 3 times a day may be too much for her? Or perhaps she is feeling disturbed by people's comings and goings?

Re: my girl has become a demon dog after giving birth

other dogs can cause problems too. I found my bitch usually needs a trip to the loo after each feed same as a human mummy but really you shouldn't be walking her just restricting to the garden because of the risks of bringing something back. If you've got kids section an area off and walk her out with a lead on.

Re: my girl has become a demon dog after giving birth

How old is your mum dog and is this her first litter? If shes a young mum and its her first she might be a bit anxious and stressed.

Also has she got somewhere quiet to be with the puppies away from the children that might be making her feel stressed if she isnt.

Have her and the pups had a vet check yet. She might have an infection that sometimes means they have accidents. If you havent already might be an idea to get her checked yo make sure there is no physical cause.

Re: my girl has become a demon dog after giving birth

We didn't have any problems of this nature with Coco, even though we had the two adult boys here and had 2 of the pups until 12 weeks... so don't think that would be your problem

Have you spoken to your vet about it ? There may be some other reason for it. Perhaps the whelping has caused her to not hold it as long ???

Hi,the puppies are 9 weeks and all ready for their new homes and he doesnt seem stressed at all.
She has her own little if room to go to if she needs a bit of peace but never goes in there lately
She and the babies have all been vet checked and are completely healthy thank goodness so i'm so confused by her behaviour and i'm really unsure what to do

How are their hernias, and if they are 9 weeks now, when are they going to their new homes?

and If it was awhile ago that she was vet checked I would just take her for the vet to check again just to rule out any infection or medical reason for the peeing. She might have been ok then but they can pick up infections very suddenly so as I said if its awhile ago it wouldnt hurt. You could perhaps take a urine sample for him to check.

She might be feeling stressed and anxious dogs dont always show it in the same or classical ways and urinating and loss of toileting training can be a sign.

The only thing I can think of is maybe doing a crash course in toilet training again much like you would do with a pup to try to reinforce and housetraining.Actually take her out every half hour to 45 mins as you would when training a pup and praise her again. Also take her out after eating drinking sleeping etc and watch her for circling sniffing and scratching at the floor and get her out quick.

Is she just peeing where she lays sometimes too or leaking? If so that can be a sign of infection or urinary incontinence associated with urethral spincter incompetance in females. Its often seen in spayed bitches and I was wondering if the birthing process has ever been known to cause the same sort of problems as I dont know for sure perhaps someone on here who has bred can advise on that.
