Re: An update on the crying husky

Logan used to be mine/my exs dog. When we broke up, she took Logan for a few days and then said she couldn't have him and sent him back. I kept him with me and Aleu for a long time. He was on Uralin because his old owners used to kick him and have really damaged his bladder (I had all the x-rays and things done for him). And whilst I love him, I knew that Logan wasn't the right dog for me. I had stopped him from being put to sleep by his owner which I was proud of, but I knew my home wasnt the right home for him, he needed an owner that could give him very very very VERY long walks every day, and at the time because of my mental health getting worse, I couldn't provide that for him; I could provide enough to satisfy Aleu, but not enough to help him pump out his bladder lol.

So I rehomed him to a lovely home of a family with a little boy. Him and the little boy fell in love with each other instantly and the mother does huge runs every morning with him. We discussed his condition loads and loads and they were going to be able to provide stronger care for him, so I let him go to them.

I felt bad about letting him go, but also happy he was going to a better owner for him. Aleu understands my mental health really well, and I think with the abuse Logan went through before, trying to understand my mental health was just too much for him to grasp.

Re: An update on the crying husky

I havent spoken to his owners in a while, but from what I've heard, he's doing fantastically. He left in.... March? I think? Might have been April not sure.

He was really gorgeous; he was much bigger than Aleu, but amazingly when I took him in he only weighed 16kg and was 2 years old D=. When he left though, I'd managed to get him up to 21kg, but hoping he's edging on more for 24kg now, but will have to ask them.

Re: An update on the crying husky

She's just had her second jab =]. She stood happily and had it and didn't even bother reacting to it. She's at home now chewing on some rawhide.

Also got some skullcap and velarian herbal tabs to see if it will help with her anxiety and worry.

Re: An update on the crying husky

Well done Stacey, Mick and Terry, between the three of you, you have done a brilliant job. I never commented on the original thread as so many were and it's good to see you took it all in for the sake of your dog.

I would love to punch that guy in the face though, taking advantage of you like that and putting your dog at risk - what the hell is he doing? pretending to be something he isn't i'd say.

Hope your little girl recovers well and eventually you have her spayed.

You are a good owner but seems you were easily lead and the person that did it obviously is a criminal in his own right - needs locking up IMO.

SHWA are amazing and i'm so pleased they are giving you help and support - now there's caring for you!

Re: An update on the crying husky

Wow just read through the whole two threads, on the first thread I was nearly screaming at the screen hoping that you would do the right thing by your girl, on the 2nd thread I was nearly crying with happiness, when I read that you were having the treatment done, and thankful to those that came forward with help, they have gone beyond the "call of duty" on this one, well done to ALL invloved. as for the comments about rehoming aleu, "if" with the support from Mick and Terry she can overcome her anxieties AND the savings plan stacie has put into place she can afford to keep aleu, AND Aleu is given more of a life rather than cooped up all day being frustrated all the time, then she should stay with stacie, IF on the other hand all areas of aleus life cannot be improved then I feel she should be rehomed with someone with experience in sibes that could possibly put her to work and give her the life she really does deserve. what I would like to say though is, if she is having the mismate treatment? whats going to happen to her afterwards, is she going to be spayed so this type of "situation" dosnt arise again, pregnancy from any dog whos temperment is under question(anxious type of dog) is highly inappropriate IMO, I personally would have her spayed, not tell this psych anything til its all done, and then slam him with the information that aleu had pyametra and had to be spayed, this way if this fella intimidates you(which it seems he has done in the past to make you enter such a situation in the first place) then he cannot blame you for her being spayed or try to pull the contract into play(which is worthless anyway) I really hope that this man is brought to account for his actions, his is a predator IMO preying on people who are trusting and vunerable, and should pay for his actions. good luck and I hope the mismate(if thats what aleu is having) works, and all this can be put to the past.

Mo
