Re: Normal age of first season?
Willow was 8 months when she had her first season but then exactly 6 months to her next one. As you can see from above it does vary from dog to dog.

Re: Normal age of first season?
In truth, you may as well ask how long is a piece of string
![]() My eldest girl had her first season at 9 months, her daughter at just over 6 months, her other daughter at 11.5 months and still waiting for the grand-daughter at 11 months. My (unrelated) girl was 15 months and a friends dog was 22 months, in contrast another friends girl had her first season at 5 months To my mind this is one reason why the vet's idea of 'blanket spay' at 6 months is not good - because they mature at such very different rates, with some girls not hitting maturity for as much as 12 months or more after the 6 month benchmark. |
