Re: should i seperate my dogs while one in season?
Any males either entire OR showing signs of being attracted eg humping should be separated as not only is there a risk of pregnancy (at 5 months it could be possible) but damage to both dogs (often resulting in death) can happen, particularly in young/ maiden dogs.

Agree with above and would separate them. At 5 months old it is possible that he is sexually mature.
Better safe than sorry as you said ![]()

Notice you are going to seperate them - better safe then sorry imo! You may not think he is sexually mature, but stranger things have happened at sea, and I certainly would not want to lays odds on it!
