What agility equipment am I missing?

I have these items to train on at home:

12 weave poles
3-4 jumps
Tube tunnel
Contact trainer (a door laid on the ground which I train his contacts over)

So I could get a chute tunnel (but he has no problems with this at agility class), more jumps, A frame, or seesaw (but over exercising on it could have potential joint impact. he hasn't learnt the seesaw yet at agility class but he's gone on it about 2 times but I tilted it). Which should I get?

(sorry for the double similar threads, but I got confused on the other thread so decided to do a new one).

Re: What agility equipment am I missing?

we've got quite a bit of lawn so lots of space for agility equipment. I'm now thinking of getting 5-6 jumps as the jumps we have at the moment are not to height and they are just poles on bricks. the jumps we could do more with, like boxes, snakes etc.

Re: What agility equipment am I missing?

how old is Ollie again?

Personally I'd get a mini A-frame or dog walk. Just something to practice contacts on but I suppose you can do this on your contact trainer.

I agree with nic101- tyre
Ever so easy to make.

I found some really good links for homemade agility kit a while back.
I'll see if I can find it again.

Jumps- you can make yourself or you can get some from jump4joy. I always picK these up when we are competitions- they're not too pricey either only £15
each I think.

In the meantime while I look up the other links. Here's a useful site- it's got a "recipe" for homemade PVC jumps:

Re: What agility equipment am I missing?

Ollie's 17 months old.

I'm thinking of getting the jumps from either jump4joy or jessejumps, which are only £11 each.

Re: What agility equipment am I missing?

I'm now thinking about buying 5-6 jumps at £11 each, so it's about £70-80. Which ones are better? Does it matter if the jump is shorter in width?

Shop

(first picture - basic (left jump - £12 each), and basic 3/4 width (right jump - £11 each)

Re: What agility equipment am I missing?

try robinsons-uk.com

they have an agility section

and have poles/cones tyres quite cheap tbh!!!

as for the shop link you posted - i think thats rather expensive! we use poles bought froma show a few yers ago and jus tstick pegs on them and poles from robinsons!!! cost me less than £20 for 4 jumps i think!

try some stakes in the garden - pegs and poles from eithe rrobinsons like i said or somewhere else....

btw our poles are blue and also double up as weabving poles (as our gardens not that big its either 2 jump n weaves or just jumps!

Hi

If you have some wings, just buy some plastic plumbing pipe from any DIY store, really cheap and you can cut them to size.

Re: What agility equipment am I missing?

I'd get/make a seesaw of some sort. It's a piece of equipment that many dogs take time to get confident with because of it moving under their feet, and you can use it to train contacts too. It doesn't have to be full size or expensive, a plank that's long enough and the right width that's able to tilt over any fulcrum should do. You see a lot of beginner dogs in competitions who are very anxious about the seesaw and refuse to do it, get a step ahead of them!
