Re: Puppy Agility - Surrey/Berkshire/Hants

hi,

we started our new puppy class a couple months ago and they are all nearer 12 months now, all are coming on really well. beginners classes have started, but wont be doing a new puppy class for a while.

you would be most welcome to come and see how we run, for future reference. contact number/email at Paddywack Dog Training. also run obedience in lightwater of which quite a few then progress to the agility.

the classes have a relaxed atmosphere, and some people who have been to other clubs comment on this. also class is split in two where there are lots of people, so norm 6 per class but no more than 8.

recommend again getting basics in, waits, a decent recall and having the dogs comforatable walking on both sides of you all really help when you and your dog have to take in lots more info when you start agility.

good luck, and enjoy your agility when you start.

Hi midgey,
Thanks for your reply too, I will check it out. You are absolutely right, it would be a good idea to do some basic training first, especially with the distraction of all the other dogs! I found the best way to get them to come back is with a whistle, with plenty of treats when they do. It's called bribery, works nearly every time.

Katie, what day do you go to your agility? Do you think Holly would be allowed to come and watch, or just walk over poles... She is mad and jumps over our 2ft planters, naughty girl!!

Be good to meet you hehe
