Re: border collie puppy

Hi elandra congratulations on your new puppy , you cant start flyball training or agility till he is 12 months , you can start training sit, stay, and down and recall regarding his walk at the weekend he should be walked no more than half a mile (quarter of mile down the road and quater of mile back home )at least till he is 4 months old , he shouldnt be over exercised while his bones are still growing and developing

Re: border collie puppy

Regarding flyball, it varies from club to club what age they actually allow dogs at training sessions but most will start before 12 months. You can teach commands like "turn" and "over" on small jumps. Get him ball obsessed, so he'll fetch a stationary ball on command and teach him a solid "drop" command.

Dogs have to be 12 months to compete starters (low hurdles, enclosed by netting) and 18 months to compete in open.
