Cant find a flyball class/group

Hi

Im very interested in starting flyball, but cant find any classes in my area, have looked on the main flyball site and googled but there is nothing for where we live (Norfolk).

Would be grateful if anyone knows of any in the area.

Also, does anyone know how you can go about starting a class, do you have to have experience/be a qualified trainer etc?

Many Thanks

Re: Cant find a flyball class/group

Hi

I have asked on our main forum for you as I can't think of any teams if anyone gets back I will let you know.

In terms of starting classes you do need to have some experience of flyball to be able to teach it properly, it is more technical than just getting 4 dogs over the jumps and triggering the box. I know a lot of people who have been in the sport for years and years but who wouldn't be be able to teach ... it's the finer points that make the difference. The equipment is also expensive, a box alone is £300. There are no formal qualifications.

Re: Cant find a flyball class/group

Thankyou for enquiring for me, will look forward to hearing if anyone does know of any classes.

I wonder if it may be worth asking round a few people, like at agility and I know of some people that teach obedience etc.

It looks great fun and the dogs obviously enjoy it and I'm sure my girl would thoroughly enjoy it too.

Will keep fingers crossed that something comes up.

Once again, Thankyou
