Re: agility or flyball in newcastle
When I lived in Whitley Bay we went to Wallsend each week for dog agility classes, it was great fun. Not sure if it's still on, that was about 15 years ago now

Re: agility or flyball in newcastle
15 weeks is also much too young to start flyball training, we take dogs at a minimum of 9 months however they are only allowed to do small amounts as there bone plates etc have no fused. I have a couple of people who travel from near you to us but if you are still trying to find a club have a look at British Flyball Association - Home Page and on the map page you should see all your local clubs.

Re: agility or flyball in newcastle
Hi Karen
Flyball is much easier for the handler and you ask a dog to run the fastest it can in a straight line - that's obviously not all there is too it but it's much the easier sport. Agility is much more technical and requires more energy on the handlers part too. If I were you I would go to a local club for each and have a real good luck and see what you think would be better, there's also no reason why you can't do both ... i do! Also ask the instructor if you can have a go with their dog so you can really get an idea of what's involved. Kindest regards Christina Allstars Flyball Team |

Re: agility or flyball in newcastle
There a really good dog training class at the Hillheads Boys club, behind the icerink in Whitley Bay. There are talking about buying agility equipment in the near future. You could take your dog there to Brian Slightholme (owner and head trainer) and get some basic behaviour under your belt and then start the agility stuff when your dog is 1.
