How old is your Bichon Jazzy?
I never thought of competing either when I started, but now it's most weekends and half my income.....!
It's more addictive than you'd imagine.

Re: Can any breed do agility?

Absolutely- any breed can do agility! So long as it's good fun for both handler and dog there is no stopping you

I wouldn't recommend a daschund or one of the basset breeds though. They have enough spinal problems without throwing in jumping. Bichons apparently excel at it anyway.

Re: Can any breed do agility?

Thats pretty cool. I would have thought agility wasn't recommended for them given their tendancy for spinal problems. I can see they would do well though they're so agile and fast.

Re: Can any breed do agility?

our eldest lab does agility for fun, but we have done some demonstrations at shows with the dog club too. she is really fast and very agile, unlike our other lab who oozed through the tyre when he had a go!!!! all sorts of dogs go, from tiny jack russells to massive rottweilers.

Re: Can any breed do agility?

Yep, the bichon down my park does

I have seen many breeds from great danes to chihuahuas and Newfoundlands to Greyhounds do agilty I have seen a few basset hounds also do it with no problem, so yes aslong as the dog is healthy then they can

True but you would only be doing it for fun. So could make a little course without jumps- maybe just tunnels, a mini dog walk... All for fun and mental stimulation...
