Starting new agility classes soon...

with Tiger, I can't wait!

We went up on Friday to meet them, see what they do and let them see Tiger. I told them he wasn't great with other dogs so they wanted us to bring him along to see how he reacts first, they have a really good atmosphere/balance with all their dogs so I could understand that they don't want a bad dog there. Fortunately, he made me out to be a total liar and sat there like an angel the whole time, even allowing other dogs to sniff at him, they were very pleasantly surprised

the course doesn't start until 1st July but they've said we are more than welcome to come and watch the rest of the classes & to bring Tiger so that he can get used to the environment a little bit

They seem much more friendly than the last class, although they are quite strict. I can't wait to get started, I just hope Tiger doesn't let me down

This is their website - please do have a look http://www.tricks4treats.org/

Re: Starting new agility classes soon...

well there are things that you could be working on before you go for your first class, things like a solid wait where you can walk away and then recall your dog to you, does your dog like toys? If so find out what is his fav, place it on the floor and wind him up and then race him to it, creates real drive to play with his reward. also having a release word, this is a word you use to tell your dog to go ahead after he has waited, i use go, but you can use any word that suits you.
