1st agility session

I took Murphy for his first agility session today. He has just turned 1 year old & even though they are all working breed cockers, he just seems to have a really high work drive that needs harnessing.

He did well at his first session & really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it but was knackered!!! still a happy dog & me getting fitter should be worth it.

The class we are going to is none competative just for fun, but i was thinking if he really takes to it, it might be a good idea to find a class where there is progression. Does anyone know of any in the Newcastle area??

Glad he enjoyed it, we are starting Rally classes with Rolo at the beginning of March.

Re: 1st agility session

Agility will definitely wear him as it is mental stimulation as well as physical. Bo loves it and we have just joined a local club and are starting at the beginning again. As long as you have a good trainer with not too many people you will be ok. We intitially went to a just for fun class but ended up teaching ourselves which is why we are going back to basics now. It's as much about training you as it is the dog. It's a good way of keeping warm on a cold night at training as well
