Smile Breeds for agility. Please help.

Im currently looking for a puppy to in the future do agility with, I just cant find the right breed , im preferably looking for a...

-medium sized dog.

- Not overly hyper dogs.

-Something that has the capability to do agility.

-Not too pricey- although willing to pay out for the right dog.

-Pure breed or mixed (not bothered)

-quite easily socialised with other dogs, not aggressive.

Im not very keen on border collies as they can be a little over hyper, I have 1 acre and a large house in the country side, will be able to let the dog free roam in garden and house, Probably a jogging companion in the mornings. Any suggestions welcome.
I also have a pug, English bull terrier and English bull terrier cross, so it would be helpful if the breed wasn't an aggressive type.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Breeds for agility. Please help.

If you want to compete then there is not much that can touch a Border collie in that size range. I believe the Belgian shepherds can be quite good.
If you do want to compete but not with a Collie, would you consider something smaller?

Hows about go right down in size for a Chinese Crested powderpuffs - who have for years and years been refered to as 'minni border collies' - alot of collie people also have cresteds, who also compete at agility..with great results!

Thanks (: Springer spaniels seem nice.

Although people have said things about them being distracted easyily by scents on the ground. Not sure if its true or not?
Thanks
