I think this is including the chin, the ad says all on the picture is included and you have to call before bidding, can anyone offer the poor little thing a home?

I think its on its own by the look of it, I know very little about chins but I thought they should have friends.

It's a good idea to have more than 1 because they are sociable animals.

I have always been told this, but every book I have read, and my college tutor said unless they are from the same litter, it's not a great idea to keep more than one as they are very territorial.

That's a myth. When i kept and bred chins, i used to keep unrelated same sex pairs together all the time. They can be a bit more complicated to introduce than other rodents but it is very possible.
The males get very territorial if there are females present in the same room, that's why it is advised to keep males and females in seperate rooms

Re: Chinchilla on ebay?

Mine live in pairs i have all males from separate litters if you introduce them properly theres no problem, they should be kept in pairs as Marcia said they are highly sociable animals

Re: Chinchilla on ebay?

You need to report the listing as live animals are not permitted on ebay

Thats the problem with some books and people who are ill informed
As is the myth that males cannot live together

Chins can be introduced to other chins and they can and do live together happily in pairs of same sex and groups of 2, 3 ,4 and even up to 6 have been known
