chinchilla treats

Hi, I'm looking for a treat that I can give lots of to my two new chinchillas while I try and get them used to being handled. I've been giving them bits of raisins which they love and will do pretty much anything for, but I'm fast approaching the maximum of 3 raisins a week and i've only had them for three days!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Just offer them bits of their normal food. They won't care that it's not 'special' believe me! You can also give mini shredded wheats (plain ones) but do try not to give anything else that is sugary, fatty or full of artificial colours and preservatives. A chinchillas digestion is easily upset and in the wild they would eat rather a dry, bland diet so that is what their digestive system is set up to cope with.

Re: chinchilla treats

How about getting a bag of the dried leaves mixes and offering them a small amount on your hand, a small pinch or a bit of a leaf will be fine a couple of times a day . I do this regularly with rescues that arrive here and it has worked for me

Talking Re: chinchilla treats

Hello,

I am a hobby breeder with the modest number of 25 chinchillas. I have 5 years experience and the well being of my chinchillas is very important to me. This is the reason I specialized in selling chinchilla products. Mainly because the chinchilla’s health is sensitive as it comes to food and candy. Rabbits and guinea pigs are less sensitive as it comes to these matters.
On my website you'll find pellets, dried products (herbs, leaves, etc. …). These are all natural products and of course also biologically grown and harvested.

If you have any questions please send me an email!

Kind regards,
Annoeschka
