Re: Introducting...The Fluff Family ! (with Pictures)

Some chins are never going to like handling but with lots of patience and sitting chatting to them poppimng your hands in the cage and letting them get used to you then most chins do eventually learn to trust you . The cardboard tube is a good tip from Caroline if you find them difficult to get back in the cage

I would def suggest more 'toys' to keep them stimulated and help those teeth worn down. Washed and dried pine cones go down a
treat as do chubes which can be hung on the side of the cage with curtain wire ( removing the white plastic first) A big favourite with chins are apple, willow , hazel or hawthorn branches , washed and dried ( make sure they have not been treated with any pesticides though)

Have a look here for reasonable priced chews and toys , all our profits go towards the chins in our care Summerhillpetsupplies | Small animal products for Chinchillas and rodents

Just brought them a wheel from pets at home. They seem really confused by it.

Cool Re: Introducting...The Fluff Family ! (with Pictures)

I didn't know P&H did wheels that were a) large enough or b) metal ? Plastic wheels are not suitable and will be chewed up.

Re: Introducting...The Fluff Family ! (with Pictures)

Hi bella, I know very little about chins, but I do know my rabbits love space, the more space u can give ur furies the better, if the room isnt being used for anything much and doesnt have wires would there be any harm letting them have the whole room? My bunnies personalities are so different when they have enough space to exercise and display natural behaviors.
This means you would be able to sit on the floor with them and read a book etc with some treats on your lap they will soon learn to love you!

They're gorgeous!

Do you let them out?
We had a plastic wheel for ours and she never chewed it, and it's lasted a good few years. We're wheel-less at moment as it fell off and I've lost a bolt but we are just letting her out more.
