Chinchilla Needed For T.v Show
Hi there everyone,
I am writing to you from Channel Five's The Wright Stuff. We have Joe Inglis, the vet, coming on our show next Tuesday and we need to try and find some chinchillas to have on the show. I was wondering if anyone wants to come on the show or know of anyone in the London area, who owns a chinchilla who'd be willing to come on the show and talk about chinchillas as pets? Also, we need someone that has a question for our vet that they could ask i.e. any health issues, behavioral issues, how to tell the sex, how to tell when they're pregnant, what conditions to keep them in etc Thanks a lot! Re: Chinchilla Needed For T.v Show
I have emailed you with a list of reasons NOT to have chinnies on your show.
Hope you take Joe to some rescue centers, it would be very interesting - i would even take a peek at your show then. |

Re: Chinchilla Needed For T.v Show
I agree with kathryn - pets should be treated as such. If the programme makers were
to visit a rescue centre or sanctuary who house chinchillas then that's different, but a chinnie is far too sensitive to be put through it's paces in a studio ! The idea of a vet giving out advice though is good. Chinnies are so sweet & some people just don't realise that they have certain requirements different to other pets. |

Re: Chinchilla Needed For T.v Show
As I understand it from a chin forum they have contacted various people and let them think they are on the show ( alter their own commitments to be able to attend) only to be emailed back to be told they are using a 'travelling zoo' that has chins and is in the London area so is cheaper
Doubt he will be any use as evidently he did not even know the colours of his chins when asked last year Its a shame as had they used some one who was knowledgeable about chins then maybe it would have got across to some owners they things they are doing wrong regarding husbandry etc
