Well since the Degu's arrived on Sunday my 2 chinchilla's are not happy at all. They are totally jealous. They bark and click at me everytime I come in the room and especially loudly if I pay attention to the Degus. I didn't expect this as there are gerbils and hamsters in the room too and they've never been upset about them. They are still getting as much time out of their cage with me and their usual treats but anyone got any suggestions for something special I can give them to let them know they are still my baby boys! Any special toys or food your chinchillas have loved in particular?

Mine go mad for a Goji berry

I'll give those a try then. I feel like I'm dealing with two jealous children who've just had a new baby brought into the house. I was trying to treat the Degu's whilst the chinchilla's were having a run round but they both came and sat on me and just looked at me clicking. I am touched they are so posessive over me.

My chinchillas get upset when the cat sits on my lap !!! Then when i go over to them i have no chance of them letting me scritch their heads, it was my bf that found the Goji Berry or a Norfolk Oat makes them be happy little chinnies again

I've given them some more hannging toys today to play with, not they need them, they already have lots, but they seem a little bit happier. Or at least very busy chewing away. Think I'll devote their play time tonight to concentrating just on them, instead of letting them run around the room whilst I hand tame the Degus. Spoilt little buggers!
