Sleep Tight Milo, My Little Man

I never thought i would be writing this so soon, and it has come as a total shock

Milo, my little brown velvet chinchilla.
my 4 year old boy
my little snuggums who i has been with me from just 12 weeks old
who would sit on my shoulders for hours
has crossed the bridge

Milo came to me quite by chance, when i won a cage on ebay.
we went to collect the cage, only to find it was a chin rescue who was closing down.
Milo was born in the rescue and was just 12 weeks old, he came home with me

when i got him home, i noticed his eyes didnt look right.
he was blind, it was genetic, he had never been able to see, and never would.
i feel it was because of this, that our bond was so close, he loved to just sit with me, and was a huge softy snuggle bum.

it soon became apparent just how badly bred he was, he was a small chin, and as he matured it became very obvious.
he had the squished, domed head, classic to animals with neurological issues, but i never thought about that with him for a minute, although i often made remarks about his squashed face, it was adorable, it made him so unique, i never thought i would loose him so young.

We found milo passed away last night, he looked peaceful, like he had just gone to sleep, i suspect it was neurological, he just didnt wake up

run free my special boy, in a new world of light
