water bottles

can anyone tell me which is the best sort of water bottle for
a destructive chinchilla?
Sugar my chinchilla has chewed through all of the previous ones
that i have brought her!
she has had plastic drinking bottles and i have also tried the
sippys too but she has got through all of them.
Sugar has lots and lots of toys to play with so i do not
think it is boredom.

Re: water bottles

Due to chinchillas teeth constantly growing will be why yours is always chewing everythin so it isnt down to boredom & you should place your water bottle on the outside of the cage so that it cannot chew it

Re: water bottles

bless her. i know many people say you shouldnt but i have a water bowl instead of bottle. its one thats held on by a type of nut and bolt. due to getting my chinn for a rescue centre thats what hes used to. i tried to get him to drink from the bottle but he wouldnt so i stuck to the bowl.

what about one of these for your chin?
Lixit Quick-Lock Crock 20 oz.

Look at the bottle that I linked you to? The metal bracket holds the bottle far enough away from the cage that the chin cannot get to it.
