Listeriosis

Chinchillas are very susceptible to Listeriosis. This disease is caused by the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes.

Conventional/Allopathic treatment by the vet is usually not effective.

That`s why prevention is very important and contamination of food by rodents must be avoided.

The poor critter suffering from the disease will appear feverish and its brain may be effected by the disease in such a way that it will cause dullness. Other symptoms are : difficulty moving or standing, possibly paralysis, (sometimes) severe diarrhoea.

Homeopathic treatment of e.g. fever and diarrhoea is possible.
