Planning on going to our first cat show

Hi, were planning on going to the Birman Cat Club Show on November 7th in Bracknell. It will be our first ever time going to a cat show. Is anyone here going?

Our breeder doesn't show but thought Rocky may be show quality due to his markings. We got him too late to enter him this time but hopefully will get the chance to in the future.

We think it will be a good idea to go to find out what it's like and what it's all about and also get to see some beautiful Birmans and get an idea about show quality.

Maybe a silly question but do people bring along cats to a show even if not showing them. Just thought maybe we could find someone experienced to take a look at Rocky to see if he could be show quality.

Thanks

No, you don't bring cats with you. They are very keen about hygiene. What you can do is enter for an exhibition pen & have your kittens in there. If you meet someone who is willing to help you could ask them to look at your kittens in there but you must enter as an exhibition to do that.

The only real way of finding out about show potential is to enter into a show.

Thanks. Yes that makes sense you wouldn't want. Sick cat to infect all the other cats.
We'll go ourselves to enjoy the show then maybe enter rocky into a future show.

Maybe take a lot of pictures of him at different angles and take them with you to show people you get chatting to?
