Do you have to be a member to show?

For example my cats GCCF, could I show her at a TICA show?
or TICA reg at a GCCF show?

Thanks!

Re: Do you have to be a member to show?

Your cat has to be GCCF reg either full reg, spplementary reg or experimental reg to show at a GCCF show, you cant show on the reference register.

With Tica Iam not 100% but I think you can do one show before you register. Soupie would be the one to ask, shes knows all about Tica.

You can be duel reg but if you are reg with the GCCF you have to give written notice before showing with any other registration body.

Hope this helps,

Re: Do you have to be a member to show?

No you have to have her registered with TICA to go to a TICA show and GCCF to go to a GCCF show, hence to go to both you would have to register her with both.

You also need to register them in plenty of time before the GCCF show.
Quote:
The application for registration or transfer of ownership (if the cat is already registered) must have been received by the GCCF Office at least 21 days before the show.
You can show with TICA under pending but the points won't count unless she is registered fully.

Re: Do you have to be a member to show?

Actually no, you don't have to have a cat registered with TICA, or FB, to show, but you do if you want to claim titles etc. Anyone can show at a TICA show at least once to see if their cat likes it. If it does, and does well, and you want to be able to go on and show more and claim titles etc then you do have to register. You DO have to have a GCCF registered cat to show with GCCF however.

That's not quite correct - this page explains more about the TICA rule:

Re: Do you have to be a member to show?

When I said you can show under pending I was assuming that no-one would consider showing more than once if the cat was unregistered, but good point.

In order though for a breeder to have a cat properly shown under TICA, she will have to be registered with them as titles are very important to breeders.

I entered my first Tica show before I registered my LH Ori. I loved it so much we registered all my show cats!
