Tica shows are similar to Fife shows but each ring in a tica show is effectly one fife show. So if you go to a 5 ring tica show you are doing 5 mini fife shows. The rings are either AB (all breed) or SP (speciality).

In an all breed ring, your cat is judged against cats in it's own breed, colour and class (silver shaded, Tabby mac etc.) and awarded places in each of these categories. When the judge has judged all the longhair and shorthair cats (adult or kitten) they will select their best cats to be in the final from the long and shorthair cats. This final normally has 10 cats in it but it depends on how many cats the judge has judged. The judged then judges the final and places each cat from 10 - 1.

In a speciality ring, your cat is again judged against cats in it's own breed, colour and class and awarded places in each of these categories. If you cat is a longhair when the judge has judged all the longhair cats they will select their best 10 long hair cats for the final. If you cat is a shorthair they will pick just shorthair cats for the final.

You get points for colour and division awards and for your position in a final.

The TICA UK site has more details Help on how a TICA Cat Show works

As for pens in TICA this is show dependant but most shows offer double pens for an additional £5.00

You can decorate your pen howwever you want and most shows are themed and offer a prize for the best decorated pen. Food, water bowls etc can be whatever colour you want. You can also have advertising, pictures, award certificates and rosettes on your pen or ontop of your pen.

Tica shows can be quite manic for a new person but if you say that you are new on your entry the organisors will nominate someone to help you on your first day. (or just grab me as I am at most TICA shows)

Hi,

You can have a double pen with two cats in. I think 3 if its three kittens but someone can probably put you straight on that.

I always use a double pen as our cats are so big and its nice for them to spread out a bit.

I would go look at a Tica show first if you can... you can generally get a double pen for a bit extra, and the one I went to look at had people using their GCCF whites sometimes just because they only had one show kit for both show types... though also saw the widest variety of beds and blankets ever lol

Re: tica and fife shows

Yeah definitely go watch one first, I must admit I wish I had before I did one. I jumped in and did a two day show and it very nearly floored me, its so hectic, lots of fun though, great thing is you are kept so busy you don't spend lots of money at the stalls lol
