The New Household Pet Titles etc in GCCF
I was just wondering what people thought of these? I think it's great, and with the split separating the Moggies from the half peds/non-reg peds will stop people complaining every time a non-reg ped wins over a moggy and vice versa.
Do you think having the titles will mean more HP entries? I do, I think that being able to work up through titles in the same way as the pedigrees will get more people interested. Do you think the non-reg ped/moggy split is good or unnecessary? Ideally I would say it is unnecessary as the HP section should be judged on temperment, condition, grooming alone... but I have heard moggy owners complain when a half ped/non-reg ped wins claiming it's not fair that they should be allowed to enter... when technically they have no pedigree and all are being judged on same criteria so that is fair in my book... but then again Misha just beat a half ped Abbysinian so I feel smug Mind you I have also seen a non-reg pedigree with a foul disposition beat sweet tempered moggies before where I did wonder why the judge made that decision

Re: The New Household Pet Titles etc in GCCF
I know several people with rescue peds who are looking forward to it too, since they couldn't show with ped classes as no papers and felt guilty entering a pedigree albeit without papers in the HP section
I hope it does boost numbers entering the moggy section too with the titles coming available

Re: The New Household Pet Titles etc in GCCF
I think the new titles are a great idea. It will hopefully increase the number of people showing, giving them something to aim for.
With regard to non reg peds v non peds, I really don't see how it makes a difference if it is a level playing field and all the cats are judged on the same criteria. If there are complaints it sounds like sour grapes from those that didn't win. Any judge is going to have their own preferences long hair/short hair, soft spot for a particular colour. There is no way to please all the people all the time. Even in the ped section where the cat is judged against a set SOP, every judge interprets that slightly differently. You learn which judges prefer your "type" of cat and which don't. Its the same for all exhibitors. I expect the HHP section will get very busy come June as everyone tries to make theirs the first titled cat
