Cat in season and showing
Hi there
Question for those that know, how do you go about showing a cat that is coming into season as my show girl is having her first season and she is not even 7 months yet and am worried that she may be in season at the date of her next show in may. |

Re: Cat in season and showing
first of all is she on the active register? if not then she will have to be neutered by 9 months of age anyway (I believe... I only do the household pets section where they all have to be neutered by 9 months)
I know you can't show pregnant queens, and afaik not queens in season either (can you imagine the pandimonium from the unneutered males?)

Re: Cat in season and showing
You can still show them, some maybe extra easy to handle because they are all lovey dovey. I showed my ori girl while she was on her first call, she was penned next to an entire boy in the adult section. He seemed happy but my girl turned into a b*tch from hell, all hissy and not happy at all. Think it depends.

Thanks for that bia, generally when she is been shown there are female cats next to her in the kitten classes just wanted clarification if one is ok to show when in season.

Re: Cat in season and showing
It's not a problem, other than she might cause a lot of interest among males penned in the vicinity!
and re. HPs being neutered by 9 months - don't forget that with the new rules coming in at the start of June, the max. age for HPs to be entire is 6 months. (referring to GCCF here) |

As has been said you can show your girl calling, it just really depends what kind of calling mood she has. If she is likely to be more feisty or touchy then I would leave her at home, but if she is just extra extra friendly then definitely take her. Being in call for an ori or siamese can be a bonus as they drop their ears more making them look more typey ![]()
