Re: showing

Hi Sophie,

Ooh sounds like you have the show bug.

FB shows are alot of fun also with the added fun you can decorate the show pen and stay with your cat all day. I will pm you with details of fb shows and someone who can help you out.

We have stayed in hotels before with our cats, the best hotels I have found are Ibis and Novotel hotels. They charge for a pet in the room but some hotels don't charge anything, avoid travelodges if you can because they charge £20 per pet per night and are usually really loud all night and not particuarly pleasant.

Tica shows are alot of fun rather hectic but there are plenty of shows going on around the country.I would advise starting with a one day show or maybe visiting one and watching it first so you can see how it works.

Izzie

Re: showing

heya

there is a TICA show this weekend at Brigg, I am going to learn about TICA shows. The clubs hosting TICA shows will have a list of hotels that are allowing the cats to stay but most other hotels either are no pets (vast majority) or charge up to £20 per night, per pet.

I don't know about in general but this show was £42 for one day or £80 for both days with one cat, plus £5 per day for a pen, don't need all white stuff like GCCF and is more like a dog show in that you have a bench slot and then take the cat to the show ring for your classes.

As for the coat my boys do with a weekly groom and a bag of Royal Canin 'Beauty Formula' every now and then, and because of the moulting at the moment they get Velcote suppliment from Zooplus, 2ml between them, twice a week.

Sadly Our Cats magazine which carried the critiques has now closed down (apparently) but then again they hadn't had the critiques from Doncaster show last September/October in before they closed, best thing to do is see if you can have a word with the judge and if you have a business card type thing with your details, maybe sweet talk them into emailing you.

if you are near Scunthorpe let me know, we can always look at sharing transport to cut down on travel costs if you are local
