Emergency cleaning at shows

I hit a new problem at a recent outing with my youngest NFC.

Show preperation had gone to plan, i used my usual foam shampoo etc, and our white bits were pristine.

On the way to the show young Indie pooed, and then walked in it (lovley!).

We mangaged a reasonable clean up with wet wipes, tissues to dry, and a brush.

I was wondering any tips for 'emergency jobs'? Any products that you find handy?

I have to say that he did well, and got 2nd place (his 1st show), so i was really pleased with him. He seemed real chilled with the whole day, once we were there.

I do intend to take him on some small car trips before the next show (Jan), in the hope that we don't get e repeat performance if it was due to nerves.

Re: Emergency cleaning at shows

I've know of people do a wash in the bathroom with hand dryer.....

Not that I think that is fair to any cat. One of mine wet himself in the car and all his tummy was yellow as it should be beige. I tried soaking it up and brushing it out using chalk before giving up. Can't remember how he did. I think he got a Reserve Grand which shocked me...

I use this if there is time, spray on and rub in, then towel dry and groom.

Bio-Groom Waterless Bath, No Rinse Shampoo For Dogs and Cats 8 fl oz (236 ml) » Bio Groom Shampoo

Used it once on a pure white cat who had an accident then sat in it, missed one ring at a TICA show whilst doing it but he won the next 2 rings he was in!

Re: Emergency cleaning at shows

I have to say when showing I with-hold food from 11pm the night before and clean all the trays thoroughly before bed and first thing at least an hour before setting off, with-holding water for the last hour before going

so far never had an accident in the carrier

if travelling for more than 2 hours (insanely rare for me) we use a dog crate that's big enough to contain a litter tray
