Question Entering Side Classes

As you get 3 side classes with your entry fee do you ever pay extra to enter other side classes and why?

I do sometimes, depends if I'm taking just one cat or not.

Re: Entering Side Classes

IMO side classes are fun classes so i think 3 is enough, but i know some exhibitors will enter a few more and pay the extra cost, i dont see anything wrong in this if they enjoy it. and for some a 1st 2nd or 3rd place in a side class can be the difference between a bad day and a great day,

Re: Entering Side Classes

I have paid for extra side classes, before my boy was judged as an adult, just for the extra handling experience.

Now he's in the adult classes I'm happy with the open & the 3 side classes.

We've been lucky so far and have some lovely rosettes & a medal but if you entered all the classes you were allowed to & were sucesssful, you would just end up with loads of rosettes or I suppose you could claim the money but it's only a fraction compared to the extra £3 to enter each extra class

All good fun though!

Re: Entering Side Classes

Yes, occasionally i enter an extra class, if I want a particular judge's opinion for example. Can't afford to do it too often though!

Re: Entering Side Classes

Only on my very first show I entered in about 6 classes and that's because I was like an excited kid in a sweet shop, pmsl, just stuck to the three tho since

Re: Entering Side Classes

Depends on finances and the judges I've had some shows where I have struggled to find 3 side classes and then others like one coming up soon where if my boy were in competition (he's on exhibition at that one), there was a choice of 14 different ones he could do!!
